Transforming Rural India through "Jan Bhagidari"
Maharashtra Gram Darpan approaches rural development through a unique lens of community empowerment, achieving a historic milestone as the first NGO in India to support a Self Help Group (SHG) in independently establishing and running a kindergarten school. This commitment to social upliftment is deeply tied to economic self-reliance; the organization mobilizes women into economic powerhouses through initiatives like the Mahagram Producer Company—50% owned by SHG members—and the establishment of over 70 dairy units, ensuring that the financial benefits of rural industry remain strictly within the village economy.
On the infrastructure front, the organization actively reshapes the rural landscape by operating dedicated production centers for low-cost sanitary materials in Amravati and Tivsa. These centers have fueled the construction of over 12,500 household toilets, directly driving the national sanitation agenda. This physical development extends to environmental sustainability, from implementing the "Silt-free Dam" project that restores agricultural soil fertility to serving as a National Key Resource Center for the Jal Jeevan Mission, securing long-term water access for rural communities.
Recognition: Our cooperative institute 'Yuva' received the First Award from the Government of Maharashtra for excellence in village sanitation and public awareness campaigns.

Sanitation Infrastructure
Health & Hygiene
Established production centers for economic latrines at Amravati and Tiwsa. We actively construct school latrines and dedicated facilities for women.
