About Maharashtra Gram Darpan
Maharashtra Gram Darpan Sanstha (MGD) is a non-Goverment organization established in 1998 and registered as a trust in Maharashtra. Founded by Shri Ravindra Himmattrao Deshmukh, the organization is committed to improving the socio-economic conditions of rural Population through people’s participation and sustainable development approaches.
The organization works towards integrated rural development across Overall India. Its key focus areas include water and sanitation, rural development, women empowerment, education, health and hygiene, agriculture, skill development, livelihood promotion, environmental conservation, and social awareness programs aimed at strengthening rural Area.
Guided by a holistic and participatory approach, Maharashtra Gram Darpan implements initiatives that promote inclusive growth, self-reliance, and long-term sustainability. The organization’s work has received recognition for its meaningful contribution to rural transformation and community empowerment.

Our mission is to drive sustainable rural development through a people-centric approach by strengthening water, sanitation, and hygiene initiatives. We empower women, youth, and Rural Population through Self Help Groups, skill development, and livelihoods, while improving access to education, healthcare, and social welfare.We work collaboratively with government, corporate, and civil society partners to promote environmental conservation and achieve inclusive, long-lasting impact in rural communities.

Driving Change Across Health, Livelihood, and Environment
Women Self Help Groups (SHGs)
Since 2010, we have empowered women through health camps, legal guidance, and sports. We facilitate NABFIN loans for livelihoods like flour mills and animal husbandry, ensuring financial independence through regular training.
Water & Sanitation (Jal-Jivan & Swachh Bharat)
We implement government water and sanitation programs in Amravati, Gondia, and Hingoli, focusing on water quality, rainwater harvesting, and waste management.
Skill Development & Vocational Training
Approved by the Maharashtra Board of Vocational Education, we conduct training batches for tailoring (Shivan Kam) and beauty parlor skills. We also serve as a training institute for the Watershed Area Program, providing employment opportunities and fostering self-reliance.
Maha Arogya Shibir (Mega Health Camps)
Organizing free medical camps for brain, heart, and eye surgeries since 2022. We provide free post-surgery medicines and spectacles, benefiting thousands of patients in rural areas like Majri Mhasla and Tivasa Taluka.
Environmental Conservation (Tree Plantation & Silt Removal)
Leading initiatives in tree plantation along 40km of highway and silt removal from dams ("Silt-free dam, silt-filled Shivar"). These efforts increase water storage capacity and enhance soil fertility for farmers, boosting agricultural production.
